Smart tech should not cost a fortune

We are a small team in Austin, Texas that got tired of paying brand-name prices for gadgets that all come from the same factories. So we built KukuBuy.

Our story

KukuBuy started in 2024 with a simple observation: two earbuds, assembled in the same factory, often cost $39 and $199 — and the difference is mostly branding and retail markup. We decided to buy directly from vetted manufacturers, test everything ourselves, and pass the savings on.

Today we carry a focused catalog of around 25 products — audio, charging, smart home, wearables, computer and phone gear. Not thousands of listings you have to sift through. Every single item on this site is on a desk in our Austin office, used daily by our team before it earns a spot in the store.

What we stand for

  • Tested, not dropshipped blind. Battery claims get measured. Waterproofing gets dunked. If it fails our bench, we do not list it.
  • Honest pricing. No fake “was” prices — discounts are real, and most items sit 30–50% below comparable brand-name products.
  • Fast US fulfillment. Stock sits in our US warehouse, orders ship within 24 hours, and delivery takes 3–7 business days.
  • Support that answers. A real person in Austin replies to every email within one business day.

How we test

Good enough for our desks, or it does not ship

1. Real-world battery testing

Speakers and earbuds run on a continuous playlist at 60% volume until they die — the runtime we publish is the runtime we measured, not the factory spec sheet.

2. Drop, dunk and bend

Any product claiming a water resistance rating gets submerged or sprayed to spec. Cables get bent 5,000 times on a jig. Power banks get drop-tested from desk height.

3. Two weeks in daily use

Each product lives with a team member for at least two weeks — commutes, kitchens, gym bags and conference calls. The quirks we find become the honest notes in our product pages.
